Overview

The current exhibition at the GOCAT Art Gallery, “Unidentified False Objects (UFO),” is a compelling exploration of transformation, alienation, and reinterpretation in post-communist Albania.

Created by Ardian Isufi, the exhibition reimagines iconic symbols of Albania’s past—such as bunkers, industrial remnants, and socialist monuments—into thought-provoking installations. These objects, once tied to ideologies of isolation and utopia, are transformed into metaphors for cultural transition and adaptation in contemporary society.

Throwback to Our Past Galleries

SOLO SHOW at Gallery
Of Contemporary Art Tirana

"Behind the wall there are other walls"

In this exhibition – a specific intervention by Naim Spahiu in the premises of the Gallery Of Contemporary Art Tirana, we come across a cycle of works where techniques and materials are closely related to a long process and ultimately result in artist’s public manifesto. The works are a part of the cycle “Time Swimmers”, an exploration of the relationship between time and human experience, where painting can be a powerful reminder of the human journey and where the artist intervenes each time with a result which is different from the other, but specific to the purpose of the exhibition with all perceived differences and similarities.

Those who tried to put
the rainbow back in the sky

Those who tried to put the rainbow back in the sky” is the inaugural exhibition of the GOCAT Art Gallery by Driant Zeneli. This thought-provoking showcase delves into themes of failure, dreams, and the surreal, offering a poetic exploration of human resilience and aspiration. Through a multidisciplinary approach that combines video, performance, and installation, Zeneli transforms the gallery space into a realm where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. Rooted in his Albanian origins yet addressing universal questions, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the alchemy of turning setbacks into opportunities for growth. It sets the tone for GOCAT as a platform for challenging, boundary-pushing contemporary art.
