International students’ research on sustainable freshwater solutions

Students from École Spéciale des Travaux Publics (ESTP) in Paris joined colleagues from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism in Tirana and the Faculty of Architecture in Prishtina for an Erasmus academic project focused on one of the most pressing environmental challenges: providing freshwater in coastal areas through innovative and sustainable solutions.

The interdisciplinary initiative explores how energy technologies can be integrated into desalination systems, combining expertise in urban planning, architecture, and technological infrastructure. Green Coast hosted the field visit, providing the necessary conditions and logistical support for the students as they gathered data, met with relevant staff, and advanced to the concept design phase of their research.

Through its support, Mane Foundation is helping create meaningful learning opportunities that encourage innovation, collaboration, and hands-on experience. Investing in education and empowering young researchers remain at the heart of the Foundation’s commitment to shaping a more sustainable future.
