TEG partners with the Mane Foundation to support talented students, giving them a window to showcase their work and creativity.
The most recent exhibition, which is located in one of TEG’s lobbies, is titled “Layers” and it is the work of student Blerta Isufi. She has been selected as one of the most talented students at the University of Arts to unveil an inspiring collection. The concept of the exhibition is based on tradition, divided into two separate crafts: pottery or ceramics, as well as “shajak” or beaten wool clothing material.
The young artist grew up and lives in the city of Kavaja, right next to the seaport of Durrës, known in ancient times as Epidamnos. The influences of her origins are undoubtedly felt in the exhibited works, where Isufi presents an inspired research file created using a traditional technique, highly developed in Albania. As she herself explains: “I chose this technique because it is made from a natural material like clay, a fabric formed by mixing natural fibers. I connect the formation of vases from the land where I was born with the nature of something handmade, through a technique that I want to create myself.”
In an open meeting with the students of the University of Arts and the artist Blerta Isufi, the initiative of TEG and the hard work of the professors encouraging new talents were applauded.
TEG and Mane Foundation have collaborated on the promotion of new talents and their academic and professional development. For all lovers of art and creativity, the student’s works will be exhibited in the premises of TEG open to the public until March 23, 2024.
