Mane Foundation improves chemotherapy care conditions at the Oncology Hospital in Tirana
The Oncology Hospital in Tirana, one of Albania’s main centers for cancer treatment, has undergone a significant improvement through the Mane Foundation’s support. The Foundation has provided 30 new chemotherapy chairs and contributed to upgrades in the overall treatment environment, including improved conditions and expanded space for patients.
Before this intervention, the hospital did not have enough equipment or suitable treatment conditions to meet the growing number of patients requiring chemotherapy.
With the new chairs and a better treatment environment in place, the hospital can now accommodate at least 100 patients per day in a setting that offers greater comfort, safety, and dignity.
Chemotherapy sessions are long and physically demanding, and the quality of the environment plays a key role in how patients cope with treatment. For this reason, the improvements made at the Oncology Hospital go beyond the installation of new equipment, they represent a practical and meaningful step forward in patient care, creating a more stable, hygienic, and supportive space for those undergoing therapy.
This intervention has also increased the hospital’s overall capacity, reduced waiting times, and improved efficiency in delivering essential care to patients from every region of Albania.
The initiative reflects the Foundation’s mission to strengthen health and well-being within the community by addressing critical needs and delivering immediate, measurable improvements in people’s daily lives.
