Step Into the present: “Here and Now” opens at GOCAT Gallery
GOCAT Gallery has just opened its doors to “Here and Now”, a fascinating new exhibition by Verim Zendeli from North Macedonia. This project marks an exciting step in Zendeli’s artistic journey and offers a deep, personal reflection on the moment we live in.
Inspired by the philosophical ideas of Walter Benjamin, who described “here” and “now” as metaphors for space, time, and originality, the exhibition explores how memory, identity, and today’s social realities intersect. Visitors can experience a layered story where personal and collective histories come alive through art that invites curiosity and dialogue.

Curated by Jelldez Asani and Elton Koritari, the exhibition brings a fresh perspective to GOCAT’s program.
“Zendeli builds his works upon Benjamin’s ideas, creating not just objects but encounters. The strength of ‘Here and Now’ lies in how it turns immediacy into meaning, a direct dialogue between the artwork, the space, and the audience,” says Jelldez Asani.
For Verim Zendeli, this exhibition has been both challenging and deeply rewarding:
“‘Here and Now” is perhaps my most challenging project, but also the one I hold closest to my heart. Seeing it come to life here in Tirana, in such an inspiring gallery, means a great deal to me. I am sincerely grateful to the Mane Foundation and to GOCAT Gallery for making this possible,” he shares.
The opening was attended by Samir Mane, founder of the Mane Foundation, whose support has helped GOCAT Gallery grow into a vibrant cultural space.
The exhibition “Here and Now” is open to the public until October 20, 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, at GOCAT Gallery. BALFIN Group employees are always welcome to visit and experience this inspiring exhibition up close.
